The village of Broadford is easily accessible by road, rail and air being just 9 miles from the Scotrail Station at Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland and on the bus routes from Glasgow and Inverness. Tigh a' Chroisean is in the Blackpark area of Broadford, set just off the main road.

TO REACH TIGH A' CHROISEAN BY ROAD

1. Via the Skye Bridge (NO toll) at Kyle of Lochalsh:

Take the A87 or A890 to Kyle of Lochalsh. Cross the Skye Bridge and follow the main road (A87) westward for about 7 miles to the village of Broadford. You will see a large green sign on your left to the Serpentarium also a sign to Blackpark. Turn left here and follow the road round until you see a left turn again signposted Blackpark. Follow the road for 50 meters until you see Tigh a' Chroisean on your right.

2.Via the Mallaig Car Ferry:

Take the A861 or A830 to Mallaig and board the car ferry to Armadale. This ferry journey takes about 30 minutes and has a limited frequency. The ferry runs a service restricted to pedestrians in the winter and the winter service does not operate on Sundays. It is best to contact the ferry operator, Caledonian MacBrayne for times of sailings, which may be affected by adverse weather conditions. At busy times of the year, it may be necessary or advisable to book your place on the car ferry. (Tel: +44(0)1475 650 100; Fax: +44(0)1475 637 607; www.calmac.co.uk) From Armadale follow the A851 to the junction with the A87, a distance of about 16 miles. Turn left at this junction onto the A87 and about 4 miles westward is the village of Broadford. Thereafter the directions to Tigh a' Chroisean are the same as above.

TO REACH TIGH A' CHROISEAN BY RAIL

Take the Scotrail train to Kyle of Lochalsh (from Inverness) or to Mallaig (from Fort William). If travelling via Mallaig, take the ferry to Armadale. Bus and taxi services operate from Kyle of Lochalsh and from Armadale to Broadford.

TO REACH TIGH A' CHROISEAN BY AIR

Fly to Inverness or to Glasgow and take the train or bus following the directions above. Cars can also be hired at the airport. The car journey from Inverness to the Isle of Skye takes about 2 hours, whereas the journey from Glasgow to the Isle of Skye takes about 4 hours.
